Question: How can I improve the accuracy of multibody dynamic simulations?

Answer: Normally, multibody dynamic simulations consider bodies that are completely rigid. To improve your accuracy of MBD, incorporate flexibility. For Adams and MSC Nastran users, you can utilize "flexible bodies." Learn more by watching this SimAcademy webinar Flexible Body (.mnf) Generation and Verification Using Adams and MSC Nastran.

Here is a preview of the SimAcademy Webinar.

Details of the webinar

Adams/Flex is a module for Adams/Solver which lets user incorporate flexible structures into their Adams models. This produces a higher-fidelity system representation that can result in more accurate system kinematics (displacements, velocities, accelerations) and dynamics (loading profiles).

It is easy to produce the Modal Neutral Files (.mnf) required by Adams/Flex from MSC Nastran. This seminar will examine the contents of the MNF file format, the setup considerations in MSC Nastran and the ways to validate the resulting flexible body in Adams versus MSC Nastran.

During this session, you'll learn:

  • What model setup is required in MSC Nastran
  • What options are available for flexible body generation in MSC Nastran
  • How to incorporate flexible bodies into your Adams models
  • How to validate results in Adams against MSC Nastran results
